Ich denke, dass ein kulturelles Phänomen wie Popmusik nicht auf ein einziges Merkmal zu reduzieren ist. Auch nicht, um Deutlichkeiten kenntlich zu machen. Es ist nicht einfach alles hip, was hip ist, weil es von ein paar Meinungsführern dazu erklärt wurde. Oder das Wort "Relevant". Es gibt auch das Merkmal „Altersgruppe“. Es gibt Merkmale wie „soziale Schichtung“. Es gibt Merkmale wie „Einkommen“. Möglichkeiten, sich das jeweils Neueste zu erschließen, ökonomische Macht. Das Merkmal „Bildung“, auch, um Klischees und typische Mechanismen der Manipulation möglichst gut erkennen zu können. Es gibt den Parameter „Situation“, individuell als „Club-Situation“, „im Auto“ oder aufmerksam „daheim alleine vor den Boxen“. Zielgruppe? Das Marketingunwesen hat hier viel beizusteuern. Es zielt möglichst genau in dieser Matrix. Das Erkennen als Wert erkennen. Sich etwas stellen können (z.b. der Dummheit...), eine Bedürfnisbefriedigung etwas auf später zu verschieben (etwa zum Zwecke der „Bildung“). Die soziale Situation dürfte ein Urteil auch beeinflussen, ein Hartz4-Empfänger hat vielleicht andere Prioritäten als ein reicher Erbe, der ans Ökonomische nie zu denken braucht. Wir sollten Popmusik, populäre Musik, oder früher: Volksmusik, dazwischen vorsichtig ausloten. Spass haben? Klar. Aber was heißt das? Früher anders als heute. Wieso? Wir sollen die Produzenten nicht allzu wichtig nehmen, sondern auch die Rezipienten berücksichtigen (die die Produzenten zuweilen durchaus im Blick- oder Geschmacksfeld haben dürften). Popmusik ist etwas Breites, Massenhaftes, Chaotisches, Anarchisches, Wert- oder Marktorientiertes, das nicht so leicht zu erkennen ist, wie es scheint. Ein Mix und ständiger Remix. Etwas, das auch nicht jederzeit in ästhetische Betrachtungen passt, sondern sich oft entzieht. Etwas Universelles. Was jeden überschäumt. Ein Moment des Einsseins mit dem Leben. Jawohl. Das sowieso. Euphorie? Im Rhythmus sein? Damit verschmelzen? "Höhere Ebene"? Niederstes Sein? Je nachdem.....
